Overview

This program is self-paced. Candidates can register at any time and complete the program according to their own schedule.


The Riverside County Office of Education is now offering a Level II Content Program at the Center for Teacher Preparation. This program is for candidates who hold a Level I mild/mod or mod/severe credential only. Candidates who hold a special education credential in early childhood are not eligible for this program.


The program is self-paced and addresses the Level II Content required of California prepared holders of the Level I Education Specialist Instruction Credential to meet the current education specialist standards.


California prepared holders of the Level I Education Specialist Instruction Credential may obtain the  Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential through completion of a Commission-approved Teacher Induction Program and completion of the Level II content that is now embedded in the preliminary credential program. In order to receive a Clear Credential, candidates must complete all requirements listed below:

  1. Complete a Commission-approved Teacher Induction Program
  2. Verify completion of the Level II content
  3. Complete a course in Health Education, including but not limited to, nutrition; the physiological and sociological effects of alcohol, narcotic and drug abuse; and the use of tobacco. This requirement must include training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that covers infant, child, and adult CPR skills
  4. Complete a course in Computer Education, including instruction in general and specialized skills in the use of computers in educational settings
