Level II Coursework Details


RCOE's Level II Content Program at the Center for Teacher Preparation focuses on the experience and education Level I Credential holders have already received as well as support growth and improvement of current professional practice. Please see below for additional details:

Phase One: Candidates begin with SPED 301: Portfolio Development. During this course, develop an Individual Learning Plan, providing evidence of their knowledge in a culminating portfolio in topic areas such as, but not limited to: data based decision making, current and emerging research and practices rationale, advanced behavioral, emotional and environmental supports and more. This course concludes with feedback from a CTI Instructional Facilitator as well as approval to enroll in Phase 2.

Phase Two: Candidates conclude the program with SPED 302: Cumulative Portfolio Review. In this course, the candidate's ILP Portfolio, created and designed during Phase One is reviewed by a CTI Portfolio Evaluator who provides additional feedback on the candidate's knowledge and expertise with regards to all Level II content.

Phase Three: Upon successful completion of the Level II content, candidates are issued a Level II Content Certificate of Completion. Candidates should provide this certificate to their Commission-approved Teacher Induction Program.
